No two people are the same. No two voices are the same. Many teachers have a cookie-cutter approach; attempting to make every student sing the same way. We use a more individualized approach to help a singer find the most natural and efficient way to use their instrument.
Head voice, chest voice, mixing, belting, vibrato, breathing/airflow-driven singing, navigating passaggios (transition points in the voice), acting/communicating, and vocal health.
Opera, Musical Theater, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Belt. Different styles are like languages. Each language has its own accent and own unique sound just like styles. Any language can be sung with a healthy vocalism, and any style can be too. Opera is not a technique. It is a style. We teach healthy technique that can be applied to any style.
Lessons will be sixty minutes long. The first thirty minutes will be warming up the voice and doing vocal exercises. This part of the lesson is dedicated to increasing the functionality of the voice and the understanding of the voice by the student. The second half of the lesson will be focused on applying these techniques to the student's musical repertoire.
Each teacher teaches out of a home studio and rented studio space in Manhattan. Home studios are located in Queens.
